The radiation itself and the resources to cope with it are unequally distributed and structure-given. At the same time the doses of radiation are being individualized. Let's assume what is sold in grocery stores has to pass radiation control but what is individually produced does not.
Consumption of free goods from the forest might be less of a want and more of a need. Greater economic vulnerability translates into greater exposure to radiation risks, and this relationship is mediated, paradoxically, by the natural resources of the forest. The relationship among socioeconomic privilege, the use of forests, and risk distribution can be observed on the levels of both communities and individuals.
